Sporting Club Albion hit Copsewood (Coventry) for six in the Midlands Combination with a powerful second half display at Allard Way. Albion suffered an early shock as Jodie McGuckin fired the hosts ahead with a stunning 22-yard free kick inside two minutes, which was cancelled out by Ashley Neville four minutes later. Copsewood restored their lead on 26 minutes when Albion goalkeeper Natalie Hall failed to hold onto a stinging effort from new club skipper and former England Under-17 international Amanda Whalley, which was spilt and left Nicola Foskett with a simple tap in. Trailing at the turn around, a stronger, fitter Albion side moved up a gear and within six minutes of the restart were back on level terms as Jordan Ray smashed the ball home from 18 yards out. Just 60 seconds later, Ray fired Albion into the lead before Hayley Phillipowski hit home from Ray's cross from the right. Phillipowski was on hand again to add Albion's fifth goal with Ashley Neville completing their tally by heading home following a corner. Jodie McGuckin reduced the deficit but that was purely academic for a Copsewood side who fell apart defensively and failed to create much in the way of notably goalbound efforts in the second half.
