Hampshire FA 'join the fight'
 Women's Football News 1 Oct 2009

Cancer Research UK and Hampshire FA are working together for the month of October to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research.

Cancer Research UK is the largest single fundraiser for breast cancer research in the UK. Last year the charity spent around £45 million on groundbreaking work into the disease which is a significant increase on previous years and demonstrates the ongoing commitment to beat cancer.

On the weekend of Saturday, 24 and Sunday, 25 October 2009 over 25 women's and girls teams have agreed to warm up before their match wearing the colour pink to mark their support of this vital campaign. In addition to this, more than 10 referees will be donating their match fees to the 'Join the Fight' campaign.

There is still time to get involved with the project in Hampshire. The Hampshire FA is able to support your team with ideas for other types of fundraising in October because we want to dedicate the month to awareness of the cause. If you would like to get involved, please contact Justine Mosley on (01256) 853015 or e-mail Justine.Mosley@HampshireFA.com.
