Watford joined Millwall Lionesses at the top of the National Division after beating the league leaders 2-0. Kate Longhurst set Watford on their way by putting them in front in the opening minute and Bonnie Horwood sealed the victory late in the second half when scoring direct from a corner. Chelsea are now just one point off the pace after recording their fourth successive victory, 4-0 at Bristol Academy. Former Academy striker Stef Curtis returned to haunt her old club as she scored a hat-trick and Eartha Pond added the fourth, direct from a corner with five minutes remaining. Leeds Carnegie also moved in just behind the leaders following their 3-2 win over Blackburn Rovers, who remain in the bottom two. Sue Smith, Carla Cantrell and Ellen White put Leeds three ahead but they had to withstand a fightback from Rovers who had given themselves hope with goals from Natalie Preston and Katie Anderton. Arsenal kept up their rich scoring vein of recent weeks as they ran out 8-0 winners over Nottingham Forest. Kim Little, in unstoppable form at present, once again led the scoring with a hat-trick and she was joined on the scoresheet by Corinne Yorston, Rachel Yankey, Helen Lander, Katie Chapman and Gemma Davison.
