City keep up the pace - 19 Oct 2009 - Women's Football NewsGlasgow City maintained their two-point lead at the top of the Scottish Women's Premier League by beating third placed Spartans 6-1.
 
Suzanne Lappin bagged a hat-trick for City with other goals from Leanne Ross, Katharina Lindner and Rachel Corsie, Spartans replying through Sarah Ewens.
 
Celtic remain close at hand in second place after they scored six without reply away to Hamilton Academicals.
 
Forfar Farmington defeated Aberdeen 3-1 to climb into fourth place, ahead of Hibernian who were held to a 2-2 draw by Dundee Utd SC.
 
Rangers are back in the top half of the table following their 3-1 victory over Boroughmuir Thistle.
 
The bottom two teams in the table met each other in a crucial clash and it was Inverness who emerged as 4-0 winners against FC Kilmarnock.
