This year sees the ninth annual Cornwall county football festival.
The popular festival is run under the banner of Cornwall FA's Charter Standard. This is the quality mark which aims to ensure a well run and fun experience for all those involved.
The 2010 Festival is at Newquay Tretherras School on Sunday 2nd May and concentrates on the age groups who play Mini-Soccer - the small-sided game for children.
Any club with the FA Charter Standard status can enter teams from Under-7 through to Under-10 age groups. Girls teams at Under-10 and Under-12 ages groups can enter too. Each team will be guaranteed a minimum of five games with certificates and medals for all participating players.
The additions to last year's festival are back. Young players will be able to try out their skills in specially set up coaching areas while their club coaches can get expert help and advice from professional FA Tesco Skills coaches.
Phil Cardew, Cornwall FA's Football Development Officer, said: "All teams will be put into leagues with all age groups being participation only with no league winners and runners-up etc. This, we hope, will allow clubs to bring along their players who may not always get a game every week and let them join in.
"The aim of the festival is to thank and reward the Charter Standard Clubs in the county for achieving and maintaining the standards demanded by the FA Charter Standard scheme."
The closing date for applications is Friday 16th April. For forms and further details, please phone (01208) 269010 or visit www.cornwallfa.com.
