Regional Leagues round-up
 Women's Football News 26 Mar 2010

Northern Combination
Rochdale ensured that they extended their lead at the top of the table to eight points as they scored seven without reply away to Blackpool Wren Rovers. Jennie Cummins bagged a hat-trick for the league leaders whose other goals came from Lizzie Paul, Sarah Buffel, Holly Newman and Anna Renken.

Salford Ladies meanwhile returned to league action with a 6-0 victory against Darlington RA. Caroline Price netted a double with one apiece from Louise Wakefield, Lyndsey Newman, Rosa Havelin and Alicia Cain.

Midland Combination
Coventry City edged closer towards the league title with a hard fought 1-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers. Hazannah Parnell netted the only goal of the game in the second minute and it means that victory over second placed Sporting Club Albion this Sunday will ensure that the Sky Blues are Champions.

Leafield Athletic followed up their victory on the previous Sunday by picking up another valuable point in a 1-1 draw with fifth placed Copsewood (Coventry). Amber Hughes gave Leafield a second half lead which was cancelled out five minutes from time by an equaliser from Nicola Foskett.

TNS Ladies are back in midfield following a 6-1 victory over Loughborough Foxes. Sally Jones led the scoring with a hat-trick, with one apiece from Sian Skelton, Alicia Robinson and Amy Tomie.

South East Combination
The top two in the league did not play on Sunday and this allowed Lewes to catch up some ground in third place, thanks to a 4-3 victory away to Cambridge Women. Kelly Newton, Kirstie Spice, Kiera Chapman and Helen Whitton were all on target for the Sussex side.

Tottenham Hotspur's recent run of good form was brought to a halt as they went down to a 3-1 defeat at Milton Keynes Dons. Lauren Goodier, Leigh Dean and Heather McDonnell scored the goals to end the Dons' run of five successive defeats and return them back above Spurs into fourth place.

South West Combination
Things remain as tight as ever at the top of the table but it is Havant & Waterlooville who hold on to the leadership despite being held to a 1-1 draw by Cullompton Rangers. Laura Oakes gave the Hawks a first half lead, before the Devon side hit back after the break to equalise late on through a Carmen Thornton penalty.

Chesham Utd leapfrogged back above Yeovil Town into second place by beating the Somerset side 3-1. After going behind early on, Chesham hit back to take the points with goals from Dawne Campbell, Anneka Nuttall and Kat Bowers.

Plymouth Argyle returned to winning ways with a 2-1 win away to Winscombe, earned by a double from Laura Perrett.

Oxford City added to Reading Town's woes by scoring thirteen goals without reply, a result which boosts their chances of a mid-table finish.
