Following hot on the heels of the first team's 3-1 triumph over Barnet in the Middlesex Senior Cup Final recently, Queen's Park Rangers 3rds have added another piece of silverware to the trophy cabinet.
In an exciting Thames Valley Counties League Cup Final against Mansfield Road - who are the current league leaders ahead of the R's in second place - Rangers ran out worthy 2-1 winners.
Vanessa Oppong opened the scoring for the R's with a contender for goal of the season - a strike from fully 25 yards that flew past the opposition keeper into the roof of the net.
Mansfield Road were back on level terms on the stroke of half time, setting up a tense second half finale. Midway through the second half, however, Rangers scored the all important third goal of the contest, in form Chloe Julien finding herself clean through on goal following a neat passing move before calmly slotting home into the bottom corner.
Rangers were the better side throughout, with the whole squad playing their part, none more so than the influential trio of Oppong, Eleni Savva and Julien.
Furthermore, they can also boast that in both the semi finals and Final they have won against teams who had previously gone all season unbeaten and, remarkably so, in their first season together.
