Henley Town FC welcomes new chairman Barrie Baxter who is shaking up the whole club in readiness for next season. Barrie has been working with the ladies team, who play in the Southern Region League, to shape a plan that will re-motivate and revive the team and bring them back some success on the pitch come the start of the season. Support at a club level is the key to the changes and preparations are well underway. Management and coaching staff are being currently being appointed and training facilities secured in readiness for a challenging pre-season period. There is also a strong desire to grow the ladies section by initiating a reserve team which will, alongside the first team, provide a future for women's football in the town for years to come. To kick start the exciting plan, Henley Town FC are holding an open day to invite players (new and existing) to come and see what the new club and team changes are all about. FA Qualified coaches will deliver a two-hour structured session that will cover the technical, physical and practical aspects of the game in order to give flavour of what is on offer at Henley next year. The open day will take place at Henley Town FC on the main pitch on Sunday July 11th. Please arrive in plenty of time ready for a 1pm start. Bring shin pads and appropriate footwear for playing on grass. If you're interested in attending please turn up on the day or contact Wendy Waterman on wwaterman7@googlemail.com for more information.
