Liverpool won the Keele International Cup in style with a 7-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Final. The result meant that the Reds had not conceded a goal throughout the entire competition, formerly known as the Umbro Cup. Kelly Jones and Cheryl Foster each scored twice, with Liverpool's other goals coming from Katy Williams, Katie Brusell and Gemma Watson. Liverpool had beaten Curzon Ashton 2-0 in the semi finals while Wolves, the competition's surprise package, caused a shock as they knocked out Everton on penalties.
