Everton eased to a comfortable start in their UEFA Women's Champions League qualifying group with a 6-0 victory over KI Klaksvik in Siauliai. The Faroe Islanders held out until midway through the first half when Michelle Hinnigan gave Everton the lead and Fara Williams added a second from the penalty spot. Natasha Dowie put the Toffees well in control by further extending their advantage five minutes before half time. After the break, Toni Duggan got on the scoresheet to make it four but it wasn't until the dying minutes that Everton rounded off the win with their final two goals, Williams netting her second before Gwennan Harries completed the scoring in the second minute of injury time. Everton's next game is on Saturday when they take on Macedonian Champions ZFK Borec, who were beaten 4-0 by Gintra Universitetas in the other group match. | |||||||||||||||||||||
