![]() In a match where eight Wales players earned their first cap at Under-19 level, Portugal took the lead in the first half with a goal just after half hour in from captain Laura Luis, and held this lead at half time. The second half however saw Wales go in front with two goals in quick succession from substitute Danielle Broadhurst and Emily Brown. A goal from Portugal's Donya Oliveiro meant that the teams were equal with ten minutes to go, but a final twist saw Wales being awarded a corner during added time. In the subsequent goalmouth scramble, Nia Jones managed to nudge in the ball and secure a late win for Wales. The teams now look forward to facing each other again on Wednesday (18th August) in Rio Maior, kick off 11am.
