Wales achieved an extremely convincing win against Georgia by an astonishing 21-0 in the first of their three UEFA Under-19 Championship qualifying matches being played in Slovenia this week. The Under-19s matched their senior team's feat of recording a record score for their country within three weeks of the 15-0 win over Azerbaijan in the World Cup qualifiers. The match was dominated by Wales, who went 3-0 up in the first ten minutes with goals from Megan Wynne, Sharla Passariello and Emily Brown. A second goal from Brown, plus one each from Hannah Keryakoplis and captain Jasmin Dutton put the score at 6-0 at half time. The goals continued to come in the second half with Josie Green (3), Nia Jones (2), and substitute Zoe Atkins all putting their names on the scoreboard, in addition to further goals from Brown (5 in total), Keryakoplis (4 in total, including a penalty) Wynne and Dutton (2 each in total). Ellis Parsons and Rachel Rowe also came close to scoring, both hitting the crossbar, and a saved Dutton penalty stopped Wales adding a further goal to the tally. In the other game of the group last season's European champions France beat Slovenia 1-0, scoring in the 83rd minute. Wales next face Slovenia on Monday (13th September) in Smartno ob Paki, kick off 3pm local time (2pm UK time).
