Polly's double revives Keynsham hopes
 Women's Football News 4 Oct 2010

Keynsham Town re-kindled their hopes of qualifying for the knockout stages of the Premier League Cup with a 3-2 victory away to National Division side Reading FC Women.

In one of only four ties to survive the weather, Polly Wardle gave Keynsham a 20th minute lead which was quickly cancelled out by Nikki Watts. Naomi Clipston and Wardle then struck again to put Keynsham 3-1 in front before Mikaela Howell replied ten minutes from time to give them a nervous finish. Reading have already qualified but Keynsham must wait and see if they have secured a place in the top two as the other group match between Yeovil Town and Portsmouth was postponed.

Sunderland have booked their place in the last sixteen, almost certainly as group winners, following their 4-0 victory at Newcastle Utd. Kiera Ramshaw and Natalie Gutteridge ensured the Wearsiders went into half time with a two-goal lead and Ramshaw completed her double within five minutes of the restart, before a Jo Cartwright own goal rounded off the scoring.

West Ham Utd lifted themselves into second place in Group One, at the expense of Colchester Utd by beating them 3-1. The first half ended goalless but Becky Merritt opened the scoring for Hammers on the hour mark and Carly Roache added a second. Maegan Doyle pulled a goal back for Colchester but Joanne Wosahlo made the game safe for West Ham from the penalty spot with ten minutes remaining.

Coventry City are guaranteed a place in the top two of their group after they won 3-2 at Cardiff City, who must wait on the result of the other game between Watford and Aston Villa. Laura Dermody gave Coventry an eighth minute lead which was levelled before the interval by Lisa Bird, and Terri Beddows put Cardiff ahead midway through the second half. Ten minutes from time, Jade Formaston equalised for the Sky Blues who went on to grab a winning goal through Katy Male.
