Daventry Town are looking forward to their FA Women's Cup First Round tie this week when they take on runaway Midland Combination leaders Rotherham Utd.
The East Midlands League Division One South side, who are yet to drop a point in the league this season, set up the biggest match in their history with a 3-1 win over Corby S & L in the previous round and manager Ben Jones feels the occasion will be a good test for his players. "We are all looking forward to what is the biggest game for us to date," he said. "The team have prepared well and are looking to continue our impressive start to the season.
"We know it will be a tough game but we will look to enjoy the occasion, learn from the experience and give them a test. I see this game as the catalyst for a successful league campaign."
Sarah Muttitt, who scored for Daventry in the last round, added: "We are confident in ourselves, we have a great team that has gelled well over the last two seasons which is echoed in our performances in all competitions. We have confidence in each other and a great team ethic which will take us far."
"It is amazing that we have got this far in the Cup," said Laura Coulson. "To progress would be a dream and a great achievement. I can't wait to play and show how far we have come.
Erika Mole added: "We have a great team spirit and will take the game as any other. We are looking forward to the challenge - talent wins games but teamwork wins championships."
