Spartans booked their place in the semi finals of the Scottish Women's Premier League Cup with a 4-1 victory over local rivals Hutchison Vale.
Hayley Lauder gave Spartans an eleventh minute lead when she headed home a Molly McKean corner and the same combination led to the Scottish international doubling their advantage. Laura Gavin renewed hopes for Hutchison as she pulled a goal back shortly before half time but Lauder restored the two-goal deficit six minutes into the second half as she completed her hat-trick. Diana Barry rounded off the scoring on the hour mark with the fourth goal for Spartans who will play either Rangers or Hamilton Academicals in the last four.
Glasgow City are also safely into the semi finals after they defeated FC Kilmarnock 10-0. Leanne Ross led the scoring for City with a hat-trick, Jane Ross and Emma Fernon both weighed in with doubles and the tally was completed by Lisa Evans, Christie Murray and Danica Dalziel. City will face Hibernian in the semi finals.
One match was played in the Scottish Women's Premier League on Sunday, Rangers continuing their unbeaten start and lifting themselves into fourth place in the table, thanks to a 6-1 victory over newly promoted Falkirk.
