Four-star Chelsea stun Belles - 25 Apr 2011 - Women's Football NewsDoncaster Rovers Belles 1 (Exley 24) Chelsea 4 (Buet 40, Bird 48, Hincks 60, Plewa 86)
Chelsea fought back from a goal down to record an emphatic win over Doncaster Rovers Belles and earn their first victory in The FA WSL on Sunday afternoon.

Vicky Exley gave the home side a 24th minute lead, but goals from Danielle Buet, Dannii Bird, Ashlee Hincks and Emma Plewa saw the visitors cruise to victory.

The Belles threatened early on as Precious Hamilton and Aine O'Gorman both had efforts blocked in the area and Exley shot wide. Exley though atoned for that miss with the opening goal when she met Kylla Sjoman's corner with a firm far post header.

Chelsea could and perhaps should have made an immediate response when Hincks volleyed over from a good position after meeting Buet's cross. Drew Spence also shot wide for the visitors before Buet equalised with a superb effort. Spotting Helen Alderson off her line, Buet's shot from 35 yards out saw the ball fly over the goalkeeper's head and dip just under the bar to hit the back of the net.

Bird put Chelsea in front three minutes into the second half, taking advantage of some hesitant defending from Lyndsey Cunningham to poke the ball past Alderson following another dangerous cross from Buet.

Kylie Davies did well to block Hamilton's route to goal as Doncaster tried to get back on level terms.
However, Hincks made it 3-1 on the hour mark with an impressive shot on the turn which gave Chelsea some breathing space.

As Chelsea pressed, Hincks saw her low shot turned wide by Alderson and then headed off-target from close range. Helen Lander also went close for the Blues, putting a low shot wide, before substitute Plewa rounded off the scoring four minutes from time.

Another Chelsea sub, Rebecca Jane struck the bar with a shot in stoppage time but it mattered not as the Blues ran out comfortable winners.
