With Scottish Women's Premier League leaders Glasgow City not playing, Hibernian and Celtic sought to gain ground as they met each other.
Third placed Celtic emerged as 2-1 winners over second placed Hibernian with a result that, in the end, best favours the league leaders. Celtic full back Chloe Craig and Hibs striker Laura Kennedy had the game headed for a draw before ex-City player Suzanne Lappin popped up with the winner. The result means that Celtic remain in third and within eight points of City while Hibs sit in second three points behind, with City still having a game in hand, as we move towards the mid-season break.
Jennifer Callaghan scored twice for Rangers as they drew 2-2 with Inverness City in Glasgow. Karen Mason converted two penalties for Inverness to ensure a share of the spoils and also to maintain her side's one point advantage over Rangers in the table.
Hamilton Academicals went down 2-0 to a fantastic Forfar Farmington side, who seem to go from strength to strength with each game. Aimee Godfrey and Caroline Heron netted the goals as Forfar sit in fourth place after nine games played.
Kilmarnock scored their first goals of the season, but still lost 7-3 to Hutchison Vale. Caron Campbell, Kirsty Munro and Kimberley Dick got on the scoresheet for Killie. On the mark for Hutchie were Kat Smart and Michelle Russell who both got hat-tricks, along with a single strike from Laura Gavin.
Spartans demolished Falkirk 6-1 thanks to a brace each from Diana Barry and Scotland star Hayley Lauder. A strike from Louise Mason and an own goal from the Bairns gave Spartans six, with Eve Rule getting a consolation for the home side.
