New surface on way at Keynsham
 Women's Football News 28 Jun 2011

New surface on way at Keynsham - 28 Jun 2011 - Women's Football NewsThe major ground development at the Crown Field, Keynsham, home of Keynsham Town Ladies FC, is well underway and on schedule with the main excavation and base stone now in place.

The reburbishment of the ground and the introcution of a top quality 3G surface together with two new five-a-side courts is transforming the facilities available to Keynsham and their tenants, Keynsham Town Development WFC.

Keynsham manager Barrie Newton commented: "These are exciting times for the club with the pitch of the highest quality.

"It will be to the same specification and from the same manufacturer that went into Manchester United's Carrington training centre, so all the players will be looking forward to the hand over late in August.

"It will also be great to train on the pitch we will play on and to see the benefits from the pitch letting, which will mean the club is open all the time with a high level of intensity that will give added zest and provide jobs. We have a great enquiry level for new players wanting to participate in the new facilities and for other organiasations looking to use the site."

Keynsham will be holding try-outs for new player at their first three pre-season Sunday training sessions. Interested players should attend on Sundays at 4pm on 3rd, 10th and 17th July at the club's practice pitch, Crown Field, Bristol Road, Keynsham. BS31 2BE.

The club, which plays in the FA Women's Premier League, is particularly interested in players who are aspiring to step up to this level or already have experience at this level and wish to change clubs. They will also consider players who have reached their limit at FA Premier Reserve League level and look to move into first team football or players from a Centre of Excellence that are a good quality prospect.

Players with less experience or proven ability may alternatively trial for the club's thriving Reserve team that last season won promotion in the Somerset County League.

Any player wishing to attend for trial should contact the First Team manager, Barrie Newton on (01225) 874683 or (07977) 784167.
