Plymouth Argyle are pleased to announce that they are forging an alliance with UCP Marjon, a University that is renowned for sporting courses and sports in addition to academic studies.
The ladies squad will have the use of the College's new £12 million state of the art indoor training facilities that are second to none and will train under the watchful eyes of both students and experienced staff. Players are able to be monitored individually on their levels of fitness, and different areas can be identified where improvements may be made.
In the longer term, the College is hoping to attract top quality female footballers to their courses, with scholarships available, and the prospect of being able to play for a Premier League team should prove to be advantageous to both partners, and a big draw for prospective students.
Plymouth Chairman Mike Picken said: "I am delighted that we are forming a partnership with Marjon. Although in its infancy, I see this as a way forward for our club and believe it will be of great benefit to both partners in the long term."
Meanwhile the ladies return to pre-season training on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Weston Mill from 7pm to 9pm commencing on 5th July. All previous, current and prospective new players are welcome to attend as the club prepares for life in the Premier League.
