Over 50 of the most talented East Region female football players gathered for the inaugural Scottish FA East Region Girls Football Camp at Dundee University last week.
The four-day camp was open to players who attend any of the East Region Performance Squads from the Under-13 Local Authority Area Squads, the 12-17 year old regional Advanced Training Centre and the Under-15/ Under-19 Regional Squads.
All players were given the opportunity to learn and train with the regional squad coaches as well as taking part in Nutrition, Strength and Conditioning, and Psychology workshops. The players were also treated to have a question and answer session with Women's A Squad Players Lisa Evans and Emma Mitchell.
As well as this, the girls were given an individual player development workshop by Women's Under-19 Coach Shelley Kerr.
Sam Milne, East Region Girls/ Women's Football Development Officer, said: "This four day camp has been a great opportunity for all the elite players in the region to come together and train at a high standard. The standard of the girls was excellent and it was very pleasing to see an abundance of talent coming through our performance squads in the East Region.
"The girls all took part in our educational workshops and the training sessions with great enthusiasm. As well as the practical sessions the girls all completed homework every evening, on the development of the women's game.
"Lisa Evans and Emma Mitchell also inspired the girls with their discussions on their developments through the East Region Player Pathway. It was particularly pleasing to know these two girls were in the same squads as our camp girls only a few years ago and now they are talking to them about their preparations for the UEFA Champions League, and, European Championships with the Women's A Squad.
"A big thank you goes to all the staff at Dundee University Riverside Playing Fields, the East Region Coaches, Lisa Evans, Emma Mitchell, Shelley Kerr and all the players for making the week such an enjoyable one."
