Watford welcome quartet - 27 Jul 2011 - Women's Football NewsWatford are pleased to announce four new signings for the 2011-12 season.
The management team has been busy in the transfer market over the summer and are delighted to welcome Emma Sherwood, Lois Roche, Brooke Nunn and Meghan McKeag into the squad.
Emma Sherwood, a forward from Chelsea, has already played in two friendlies for the Golden Girls, scoring two at Crystal Palace. She has experience at both Reserve and First team level during her time at Cobham.
Lois Roche signs from Arsenal, where she played regularly for the Reserve and Academy teams. A tough tackling midfielder, she will look to bring energy and extra quality to the central midfield area. Lois was a youth International with the Republic of Ireland and has recently been invited to train with the Senior squad.
Brooke Nunn, a former England youth International, also signs from the Gunners having been involved in the Academy, Reserve and First team squads. A creative midfielder, Brooke has exceptional ability on the ball.
Meghan McKeag, a left back, makes the transition from Millwall Lionesses having previous involvement with the England youth teams. A graduate in Psychology, McKeag played at the University of Hertfordshire on a football scholarship.
Watford manager Neil Hart said: 'We are delighted to have the girls join us for the new campaign. We set out to improve certain areas of the team so I'm delighted we have been able to do this. We are beginning to take shape with pre-season preparations going extremely well. I want every player to be ready for our first competitive league fixture against Leeds United on Sunday 21st August."
First Team assistant, Sam Perrin commented: 'It's great to have additions with such quality coming into the squad. We really believe these girls will help us achieve the targets we have set for the new season."
Watford continue to monitor several players and expect the announcement of further signings before the end of the pre-season period.
