Swans scuppered by late goals
 Women's Football News 11 Aug 2011
Two late goals condemned Swansea City to defeat in their opening UEFA Women's Champions League group match in Paphos.
The Swans had looked to be on their way towards a notable goalless draw against Legenda Chernigiv but the Ukranian side struck twice in the last four minutes to give themselves a 2-0 victory.
Yulia Kornievets broke Ian Owen's side's resistance by giving Legenda an 86th minute lead and captain Olga Melkonyants wrapped up the win with the second goal in injury time.
Swansea have a chance to bounce back on Saturday when they play their second group game against hosts Apollon - the Cyprus side which knocked out Umea IK in last season's competition.
Swansea City: Gemma Border, Lauren Hancock, Tija Richardson, Ella Walsh, Natalie Ashford, Sarah Adams, Rachel Rowe, Kelly Newcombe (sub Verity Owens 56mins), Lindsay Morgan (sub Jodie Passmore 84mins), Abbie Britton, Laura-May Walkley (sub Ria Hughes 90mins). Subs not used: Lisa Anderson, Jessica Hammett, Chloe O'Connor, Chloe Lewis.
