Swansea hopes ended

Swansea City's hopes of qualifying for the knockout stages of the UEFA Women's Champions League were dealt a crushing blow after they were beaten 8-0 by Apollon. 
Laura Roxana Rus put the Cypriot side ahead in the twelfth minute and the lead was doubled on the half hour mark by Liliana Kostova. Hayley Lauder added a third before Rus netted her second just ahead of half time.
Lauder completed her brace just ahead of the hour and Florentina Spanu put the host side further ahead four minutes later. Christiana Solomou got herself on the scoresheet and Andreea Laiu rounded off the scoring ten minutes from time.
Swansea finish their group matches against FC Progres Niedercorn of Luxembourg on Tuesday. 
Swansea City: Gemma Border, Lauren Hancock, Tija Richardson (sub Chloe Lewis 81mins), Ella Walsh (sub Chloe O'Connor 74mins), Natalie Ashford, Sarah Adams, Rachel Rowe, Ria Hughes, Lindsay Morgan (sub Jodie Passmore 60mins), Abbie Britton, Laura-May Walkley. Subs not used: Lisa Anderson, Jessica Hammett, Verity Owens, Kelly Newcombe.
