Swans sign off with victory
 Women's Football News 16 Aug 2011
Swansea City concluded their UEFA Women's Champions League group matches with a resounding 4-0 victory over Progres Niedercorn of Luxembourg.
The Swans had been beaten in their two previous matches but never looked back after Chloe O'Connor gave them the lead on 35 minutes.
After the break, captain Tija Richardson doubled Swansea's advantage and they went on to seal the win with goals in the last five minutes from Abbie Britton and Jodie Passmore.
The result means that Swansea finish their group matches in third place and hosts Apollon Limassol - whose side includes Scottish internationals Frankie Brown and Hayley Lauder - progressing to the knockout stages.
Swansea City: Gemma Border, Lauren Hancock, Tija Richardson, Ella Walsh, Jessica Hammett (sub Ria Hughes 72mins), Chloe O'Connor (sub Verity Owens 85mins), Rachel Rowe (sub Sarah Adams 45mins), Abbie Britton, Kelly Newcombe, Jodie Passmore, Laura-May Walkley. Subs not used: Lisa Anderson, Natalie Ashford, Lindsay Morgan, Chloe Lewis.
