Champions League draw
 Women's Football News 23 Aug 2011

The three British clubs remaining in the UEFA Women's Champions League have learnt their fate in the early knockout stages of the competition.

Former winners Arsenal, who reached the semi finals last season, have been paired with Belarus Champions FC Bobruichanka whilst the other English representatives, Bristol Academy, make their debut in the competition against Russian side FC Energiya Voronezh, who have twice reached the quarter finals under the old format.

Meanwhile Glasgow City, who have qualified for the knockout stages for the first time, will play against Valur Reykjavik of Iceland.

If the teams get through, Arsenal could face a re-match with Rayo Vallecano of Spain who they edged past last year. Academy could face more Russian opponents in FC Rossiyanka or Dutch title winners FC Twente, whilst Glasgow City face a potential tie against former Champions and last season's runners-up FFC Turbine Potsdam.

Matches in the round of 32 will be played on 28/29 September and 5/6 October, with the seeded side away in the first leg. The round of 16, for which there was an open draw, takes place on 2/3 and 9/10 November.

The quarter-finals and semi-finals are played over two legs in the spring leading to the final in Munich on 17 May.
