Portsmouth's winning charge at the start of the season was brought to a halt but they have extended their lead at the top of the Southern Division to three points following their 1-1 draw with Keynsham Town.
Pompey took the lead on 18 minutes when Jemma Tewkesbury converted at the second attempt from a cross by Charley Wilson but Keynsham hit back to earn a share of the spoils when Leanne Lapham equalised five minutes before half time.
West Ham Utd leapt into second place as they bounced back from defeat the previous Sunday to run out 4-0 winners over Plymouth Argyle. Kelley Blanchflower kept up her good start to the season by scoring twice, with Stacey Little and Gemma Shepherd also on target.
Colchester Utd moved above Brighton & Hove Albion and into third place by beating them 3-2. In an entertaining game, Helen Bass netted twice and Kate Longhurst the other for the U's with Brighton replying through a Kim Stenning double.
Tottenham Hotspur and Gillingham battled out a 1-1 draw which keeps both teams in a mid-table position. Wendy Martin gave Spurs the lead midway through the first half, before the Gills earned themselves a draw when Danni Farmer equalised from a free kick ten minutes from time.
Queen's Park Rangers meanwhile claimed their first win of the season as a strike from Cherelle Albert earned them a 1-0 local derby success away to Millwall Lionesses.
