Coventry City held on to the leadership of the National Division after they were held to a goalless draw by Cardiff City.
The Sky Blues' advantage has been cut to a single point whilst Cardiff remain the only unbeaten team in the division.
Leeds Utd consolidated themselves in second place following a 2-0 victory away to Charlton Athletic. After the first half had ended goalless, Sarah Danby put Leeds in front on the hour and substitute Emma Lipman wrapped up the points with the second goal six minutes later.
Aston Villa bounced back from their defeat the previous Sunday to score six without reply against Reading FC Women. Emma Follis and Katie Wilkinson netted first half goals for Villa and the third came via a Kelly Chambers own goal on the hour. Natalie Gibson, Follis and Erin Vaughan all added further strikes to seal an impressive win for Villa.
Sunderland kept in touch with the leading sides, thanks to a 2-0 success at Nottingham Forest. Both goals came inside the opening six minutes, Beth Mead giving Sunderland the lead and Sarah McFadden adding the second.
Barnet are now starting to pick up in form and they moved into mid-table with a 4-0 victory over Watford. The Bees took a fifth minute lead through Stacey Sowden which Vicky Boardman doubled on the half hour.
