Scotland narrowly miss out
 Women's Football News 14 Oct 2011
Scotland Under-17 came back from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Iceland in the final game of the first qualifying round of the UEFA Under-17 Championships.
Iceland top the group while, despite a three-game unbeaten campaign, Scotland narrowly miss out on qualifying for the second round as one of the four best second placed teams.
Both sides created opportunities in the first quarter of an hour with Zoe Ness, Caroline Weir and Carolina Richardson having efforts on goal for Scotland, before Hanna Kristin Hannesdóttir opened the scoring on 17 minutes. Berglind Ros Agustsdóttir made it two for Iceland with just over an hour gone.
Pauline Hamill's side staged a late comeback, with two goals in four minutes. Weir pulled one back on 71 minutes, before Ness grabbed the equaliser to ensure Scotland remained unbeaten in the first qualifying round.
