Wales have kept their hopes alive of qualifying for the next phase of the UEFA Under-17 Championships after winning 1-0 against the Faroe Islands. After a 1-0 defeat to Moldova in their opening game, Jarmo Matikainen's side picked up the win they needed when captain Rachel Hignett scored the only goal of the game with fourteen minutes remaining. France currently top the group following two large wins over the Faroes and Moldova but Wales still have a chance of going through if they beat them in their final game.
