Scotland women's coach Anna Signeul has named a 22-player squad for the upcoming Euro 2013 qualifier against Wales at Tynecastle Stadium.
The match against Wales is Scotland's second qualifier, following hot on the heels of the 6-1 away victory over Israel, and the Scotland coach is keen to build on this win.
"We know Wales will be a difficult game for us," she told www.scottishfa.co.uk. "We played them earlier this year in Wales. It was a tough game then and they have progressed a great deal since. They have a number of players in the FA Women's Super League in England and the competitive fixtures their players have been playing in will make this a difficult match for us."
Despite an average age of just 24, the Scotland squad boasts a total of 1040 caps and Anna believes this demonstrates the right balance of youth and experience. "I'm really pleased with the development of the squad and their progress during our preparation for the qualification campaign and the first game against Israel," she added.
"There's a great deal of strength in depth in the squad with players competing over positions and that's certainly worked in our favour with the players pushing each other to improve.
"We're not complacent and know we need to continue to do more to support the players, and continue to make more demands on players and clubs, to make sure that Scotland can qualify for major tournaments in the near future."
The match takes place next Thursday 27th October (7pm) and entry is £5 adults and £2 child/concessions.
