Colchester Utd are the new leaders of the Southern Division after running out 4-1 winners over Gillingham.
Maegen Doyle netted twice in the first half and Kate Longhurst increased Colchester's lead ahead of half time. Laura Guyon added a fourth midway through the second half before Natalie Crinean grabbed a late consolation for the Gills.
Portsmouth are back up into second place but needed to work hard in beating Millwall Lionesses 4-2. Kayleigh Xidhas volleyed Millwall ahead from a Shauni Griffiths corner early on but Charley Wilson kept up her good recent form by scoring twice in quick succession for Pompey. Millwall equalised ten minutes into the second half when Dionne Lennon headed in another Griffiths corner, before Wilson this time turned provider as she crossed for Gemma Hillier to put Portsmouth back in front. Kirsty McGee then secured the points with the fourth goal, heading in a Shelly Cox cross.
West Ham Utd kept up their challenge with a 2-0 win away to Keynsham Town. The home side largely had the better of the first half but five minutes after the restart, Carly Roache burst into the area to put the Hammers ahead. Jess Barling then scored direct from a corner to seal the victory which takes West Ham third.
Queen's Park Rangers meanwhile lifted themselves out of the bottom two, courtesy of a 1-0 local derby victory against Tottenham Hotspur. A first half goal from Cherelle Albert earned Rangers three vital points.
