Morecambe v Sheffield Utd Community
 Women's Football News 13 Nov 2011
F.A.Women's Cup - Road to the Final
Sheffield Utd Community moved into the Third Round Qualifying with a 6-0 victory over local rivals Steel City Wanderers, in which Cheryl Mawhood scored a hat-trick with one apiece from Deryn Ahmed, Ami Buzzeo and Zoe Beresford. The Blades are now away to Morecambe, who reached this stage by beating Birkenhead 3-0.
Morecambe Ladies FC have been playing together since 2005, seeing various players come and go throughout the years. The only original player is Sophie Fish, who set the team up, however not far behind her are Megan Doherty, Jayne Roper, Sarah Gardner and Jenn McAlpine who joined in the 2006-07 season.
They initially entered the Lancashire County League and were League Cup winners in 2008 before winning the league title and promotion to the North West League two seasons ago.
The squad is stronger than ever this season, having set their goals at the beginning of the campaign to reach the Second Round proper of the FA Women's Cup, Finals of the Lancashire Cup and to win the league. Right now they are well on target to do this, having been unbeaten for the last ten games and they currently sit in second place in Division One North.
The team is managed by Nick Barrett, assisted by Symon Fawcett with Robbie George as Coach. Sophie Fish undertakes the role of Secretary while the club's leading scorer is Megan Doherty, who is aiming for her sixth hat-trick of the season and 19 to date this season, although Jo Norris has also weighed in with 15 goals.
The match will be played at Lancaster & Morecambe College and although Sheffield Utd will go into the match as favourites, due to a higher division status and with another local derby win under their belts, free scoring Morecambe will approach the game full of confidence.
