It's advantage Sunderland in the National Division title race after they replaced Leeds Utd at the top of the table by beating them 2-0.
In a thrilling encounter, first half goals from Sophie Williams and Natalie Gutteridge settled matters in favour of Sunderland who now head the table on goal difference, with a game in hand.
The race is also on for third place and it is now being headed by Charlton Athletic who won 1-0 away to Watford. A first half goal from Kit Graham gave the Addicks victory but both teams could have added further goals, Fliss Gibbons hitting the bar for Charlton and at the other end, Shelby Hills had a goal disallowed and Sarah Wiltshire hit both posts with one strike (see match report).
Cardiff City notched up their biggest win of the season so far and cannot be ruled out of the running for a top three place just yet. The South Wales side possess several games in hand and helped their cause with a 3-0 victory over Reading FC Women, Nicola Cousins putting them in front in the opening minute of the second half. Lauren Price quickly added a second and Zoe Atkins wrapped up the win with the final goal.
