Wrexham opened up a lead of three points at the top of the Northern Conference in the Welsh Premier Women's League by running out 4-1 winners over Northop Hall.
Lexi Musgrove netted the only goal of the first half for Wrexham, nine minutes ahead of the break, and further strikes from Liv Hull and Lowri Edwards put the home side firmly in control. Ashleigh Foster gave Northop Hall hope as she pulled a goal back with twenty minutes left but Jade Gaven wrapped up the win for Wrexham with a fourth.
In the Southern Conference, Trefelin lifted themselves off the bottom as they defeated previously unbeaten Newcastle Emlyn 5-2. Stacey John gave Newcastle Emlyn, who had drawn their opening three matches, a 20th minute lead but Cath Walsh and Jessica Wadey ensured that Trefelin were ahead at half time. Sian Scanell added a third and Rachel Rowe netted twice before the hour mark to sew up the win for the home side, with John scoring her second fifteen minutes from time.
The other matches in each division fell victim to the weather. The next round of fixtures in the Welsh Premier Women's League will not take place until Sunday 29th January.
