Loughborough Foxes are aiming to claim their first ever Premier League scalp when they take on Derby County in the Second Round of the F.A.Women's Cup this Sunday.
The Midland Combination have made it through to the Second Round for the first time after victories over Stratford Town and Radcliffe Olympic and they are eager to improve this when they take on the Rams, who have a good record in the competition in recent seasons.
"We are really looking forward to Sunday's game," says Foxes manager Steve Wilkinson. "It is the first time the club has reached this stage of the competition and is a great opportunity to test ourselves against a team from a higher division.
"As a team, we have really improved and are now competitive in every game in the Midland Combination. I thus want to see what we now need to do to improve further against higher ranked opposition."
Foxes captain Vicky Brackenbury added: "Getting to this stage of the FA Cup is a great achievement for Loughborough Foxes and highlights our commitment and determination.
"We have worked really hard this season and pitching ourselves against a club in a higher division will be another great test for the team. Derby County are a quality side and we will need to be at our best to compete with them and hopefully progress to the next round."
