Durham Wildcats stormed into the Third Round of the F.A.Women's Cup with a stunning 4-1 win away to Sheffield Wednesday.
Laura Stockdale, Anna Faux, Gemma Nortcliffe and Elise McLear all netted a goal apiece to help the university side knock out their Northern Combination opponents who reached the last sixteen a year ago.
The Wildcats now have a chance to take on a Premier League side as they are at home to Preston North End in the next round.
There was better news for Sheffield FC as they progressed smoothly by netting ten without reply against Middlesbrough.
Carla Ward gave Sheffield a second minute lead with Jodie Michalska and Ellie Gilliatt adding further goals by the quarter hour. Gilliatt and Michalska again found the net and Kayleigh Mitchell scored twice to end the game as a contest before the break. Kerry Parkin netted the eighth on the hour mark and Ward completed her double before an Amy Beanland cross was turned into her own net by a Middlesbrough defender to round off the scoring.
Sheffield will now be away to Portsmouth in the Third Round.
