Rotherham Utd face arguably the toughest task in the Third Round of the F.A.Women's Cup on Sunday when they make the trip to Sunderland.
Sunderland go into the tie as Premier League National Division Champions and current league leaders while Rotherham, back in the FAWPL Northern Division after a two year absence, are battling to avoid relegation, so the odds strongly favour a home win.
Rotherham's squad includes several former Lincoln players and it was back in April 2008 that Sunderland recorded a 2-1 home win over Lincoln (then OOH Lincoln) to deny their visitors promotion to the National Division. Several players from that game could feature again this season.
Helen Alderson, Steph Bannon, Abby Holmes, Natalie Gutteridge, Nicola Devine and Gemma Wilson all played for Sunderland four years ago while Shelly Futter, Stacey Aisthorpe, Nicola Stray and Katie Durrands featured for Lincoln.
Lincoln missed out on the title to Nottingham Forest and their agony at finishing runners-up was not helped by having an earlier visit to Sunderland abandoned at half time due to a blizzard when they were leading 1-0.
Rotherham have been beaten heavily in away ties against higher ranked opposition in recent seasons, notably at Blackburn and also Chelsea when the pitch was icy.
The winners of the tie will be away to either Leicester City Ladies or Cardiff City in the Fourth Round.
