Curzon Ashton, backed by Manchester United legend Jack Crompton and his wife, have unveiled a new away kit, sponsored by social housing provider New Charter Homes.
Former United goalkeeper Jack and his wife, Sheila, have been keen supporters of the Tameside club for many years as presidents of the men's and women's teams.
Sheila was brought in to turn the ladies team around two years ago but recently stepped down from her duties after leading the club to a bright future in the Midland Combination.
The kit has been provided by New Charter Homes after the club successfully bid for funding from the housing association's 'Incentive' Community Chest project.
Sheila said: "It's great to see how popular the ladies team has become and we now have girls from the younger feeder team eagerly waiting to join the women's game.
"It can be very difficult for a women's game to secure funding and this new kit will go a long way in establishing the team's identity especially when playing against the bigger clubs in the league.
"New Charter's support has also helped us to buy much needed training equipment which we will be used to build up the skills of our younger girls too."
The Incentive Community Chest programme sets out to support communities by inviting residents or local groups to bid for up to £1000 towards a project. Tony Powell, New Charter's executive director for neighbourhoods said: "Curzon Ashton is a club at the heart of a community and we're very keen to support all types of projects which benefit our neighbourhoods and our tenants, whether it be through sport or another activity.
"Applications for our next round of funding are open and we'd like to invite residents and local groups to get in touch if they need support for projects that will improve an area or benefit the community."
Entries will be judged by residents and stakeholders and must demonstrate how projects deliver positive results in one of five areas; health and wellbeing, economic prosperity, safer stronger communities, inclusive society, and environment. It also covers sponsorship of local projects and groups.
Application forms can be requested by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling (0161) 331 2400. Completed forms should be returned to New Charter Incentive, Cavendish 249, Cavendish Street, Ashton-under-Lyne, OL6 7AT. The closing date for applications is Monday 30 April with judging taking place in May.
