Spartans recorded the biggest victory on the opening day of the new Scottish Women's Premier League season when they defeated Falkirk 11-1.
Patricia McLaughlin led the scoring for the Edinburgh side with a four-goal haul and Lana Clelland weighed in with a hat-trick. Sarah Ewens (2), Louise Young and Diana Barry completed the tally with Falkirk's consolation coming from Emily Lyons.
Champions Glasgow City also got off to a good start, winning 6-0 away to Forfar Farmington. Jane Ross netted a hat-trick and Eilish McSorley a double, with Christie Murray also on target.
Michelle Russell was the other player to open the new campaign with a hat-trick, scored for Hutchison Vale as they notched up a 5-2 victory at Kilmarnock. Kat Smart and Laura Gavin added the other goals while Kirsty Munro bagged a double for the home side.
The honours in the Old Firm clash went the way of Celtic, who ran out 3-0 winners over Rangers thanks to a Hayley Cunningham brace and Suzanne Grant.
Hibernian also got off to a winning start, beating Inverness City 2-0 with their goals coming from Caroline Weir and Kirsty Smith.
Aberdeen were making their return to the Premier League, having been promoted back after a year away, and opened up with a 1-0 victory over Hamilton Academicals, Nicky Wright scoring the only goal of the game.
