Camden Town captured the London FA Junior Cup with a 2-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur Res in the Final at Cray Valley.
In a clash between the two teams currently occupying the top two places in the Greater London League, Spurs started the game well and were twice denied by good saves from Camden goalkeeper Liz Horton.
Play flowed from end to end in a well contested first half but it was Camden who broke the deadlock shortly before half time when Mary Guest played in captain Carmel Clinton to score.
Tottenham pushed hard after the break but Camden stood firm under the pressure with goalkeeper Horton in fine form. Midway through the half, Camden took a firm grip on the game and scored a decisive goal. Guest was again involved in the build up and Jaclyn Thayer's cross fell for Sarah Boyall to guide the ball home.
Camden still have one league match left to play against Tring Athletic and a win would put them in with a chance of the League and Cup 'double' although Leyton can still overhaul them by winning all of their remaining games.
