Newcastle Utd sewed up the league title and are promoted back to the Premier League after a year away, thanks to a 4-0 victory over second placed Sheffield Wednesday. Stacy Crooks and Steph Eadon each scored twice to give Newcastle the win they required.
Liverpool Feds returned from Wakefield with a 5-2 win which means they will end up in the top five at the very least.
Huddersfield Town ensured that they will finish in the top half of the table in their first season in the league after winning 4-2 away to Cheadle Heath Nomads. Chloe Sheridan, Emily Heckler, Shauna Messenger and Sofie Armitage all netted a goal apiece for Town.
Middlesbrough's good finish to the season continued as they notched up a 2-1 success at Salford Ladies, courtesy of Jamie-Leigh Scott and an own goal.
League leaders Stoke City now have to play a waiting game after completing their league fixtures with a 2-1 victory over Loughborough Students on Sunday.
Wolverhampton Wanderers very much have matters in their own hands after their 4-1 defeat of Leicester City leaves them requiring one victory from their final two matches in order to overhaul Stoke. Becky Hall put them ahead via a superb 25-yard volley with Dani Selmes and Jamillah Palmer adding further goals before half time. Layla Salter wrapped up the win with the fourth goal during the second half.
Loughborough Foxes have had a good season in the league following promotion and they are on the verge of securing themselves a mid-table position following their 4-0 win at Curzon Ashton. Roschelle Shakes was on target twice for the Foxes along with Laura Mills and Gemma Gillman.
Radcliffe Olympic have hit a fine run of form in the latter stages of the campaign and they moved out of the bottom three by winning 4-1 at Northampton Town. Lauren Gage, Taryn Hearn, Kim Hide and Rania Ramadan were all on the scoresheet for Radcliffe.
* On Tuesday night, Stoke City defeated Radcliffe Olympic 1-0 in the semi finals of the League Cup. Stoke will meet Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Final on Sunday 22nd April at Stafford Rangers F.C.
South East Combination
Newly crowned Champions Lewes were presented the league trophy following their 3-1 victory over Cambridge Women on Sunday. Tammy Waine, Georgia Bridges and Naomi Cole scored the goals to leave the Rooks one match away from completing the season with an unbeaten record.
Enfield Town made sure of the runners-up position with a 2-0 win away to Norwich City. Sheree Oliver and Sara Sinclair scored the goals to see their side finish in second place for the second season in a row.
A late surge of excellent form has carried Ipswich Town up the table and they secured themselves a third place finish with a 8-1 victory against Old Actonians.
South West Combination
Swindon Town will play Newquay in this season's Ambassador League Cup Final after both sides got through their respective semi finals on Sunday.
Swindon faced a tough task against second placed Havant & Waterlooville and progressed via a penalty shootout after the sides had battled out a goalless draw. Newquay also eliminated high flying opposition when beating Forest Green Rovers 3-1.
In the league, Chesham Utd have made a late entry into the race for the runners-up position after running out 3-0 winners at Gloucester City, moving themselves to within a single point of the trio of clubs above them.
University of Portsmouth meanwhile virtually guaranteed themselves safety with a 2-1 victory over Southampton Saints in which Vicky Lewis and Sarah Stubbs were on target.
