Lincoln Ladies 2 (Hamilton 10, Allen pen 49) Birmingham City 2 (Carney 30, Aluko 68)
Last season's runners-up Birmingham City needed to come from behind twice to earn themselves a point away to Lincoln in a well contested game.
Lincoln got off to a flying start and took the lead after ten minutes as Precious Hamilton marked her league debut for the club with a well struck shot over the head of Rebecca Spencer.
The goal seemed to bring Birmingham to life and, after Karen Carney and Rachel Williams had gone close, they passed up a great chance to level when a 30-yard strike from Chelsea Weston was parried by Nicola Hobbs but Williams put the rebound over.
The Blues' pressure paid off though on the half hour when Jodie Taylor, who was on loan at Lincoln during the first half of last season, crossed for Carney to head in the equaliser.
Four minutes into the second half, Lincoln had the chance to go back in front as Jess Clarke made a good run into the area where she was brought down by Kerys Harrop. Remi Allen stepped up to take the resulting penalty and coolly found the corner of the net.
Lucy Staniforth went close to a third for Lincoln when she headed wide from Hamilton's cross but Birmingham once again hit back and a good move was finished off by substitute Eniola Aluko to level the scores once again.
Aluko went close to a winner late on as her shot was tipped over by Hobbs but a hard fought encounter ended with the points being shared.
