Watford lift Ebdon Cup
 Women's Football News 11 May 2012

Watford lift Ebdon Cup - 11 May 2012 - Women's Football NewsWatford FC's Female Academy travelled to the University of Bedfordshire on Wednesday to participate in the first ever Ebdon Cup.

The purpose of the day was not only to give their female academy players the opportunity to play against other Academy sides in the tournament, but also to have a tour of the University's campus and speak to students and lecturers about courses and the possibility of furthering their education.

The Ebdon Cup kicked off in the afternoon, with the Hornets taking on two Chelsea sides, Barnet and Tottenham. Victories against Chelsea 1, Barnet and Spurs were enough to secure the Ebdon Cup for the Golden Girls and end a very successful first season for Watford in the BCS Elite league.

Watford had already reached the Quarter Finals of the NCFL League Play-Offs, narrowly losing 3-2 to the eventual winners, Gateshead Academy.

Meanwhile Watford Ladies Football Club are pleased to announce their trials for the 2012-13 season. Watford have had a fantastic end to the season and are looking to add talented players to their squad to take strides forward next term.
