Leicester City Womens Football Club have appointed Stuart Wilson as their new First Team manager.
Assisted by Neil Wilson (no relation), the experienced pair prepare for an exciting season with the Foxes. Originally starting their management career at Coventry City, they had three strong seasons finishing second two years running in the Midland Combination - once to Leicester City Women! Birmingham City then called on their experience and had the second most successful season in the club's history in the Premier League. After two seasons, an opportunity arose that was too good to turn down with the management duo moving across the City to Aston Villa. In their first season they won the Northern Division of the Premier League after winning 12 straight league games and added the County Cup to make it a double to remember.
After a season out of the game due to the birth of Stuart's first child, the duo return to football management hoping to repeat their winning trait and take Leicester into the National Division.
"We are looking forward to getting back on the touch line in a challenging league," says Stuart. "There are probably four or five teams more than capable of winning this league and we will be doing our best to be amongst them. There is a good vibe at Leicester and a professional attitude, backed by Leicester City Football Club. It's great to be back!"
Chairman Craig White said: "We are very pleased to have Stuart and Neil on board and everyone at the club welcomes them."
