Sheffield FC took the runners-up spot in the Northern Division in their first ever season in the Premier League with a 4-1 victory away to Blackburn Rovers.
Helen Mitchell's side went in front through Ellie Gilliatt after just 30 seconds of play and they took a strong grip on the game via strikes either side of half time from Jodie Michalska. Kayleigh Mitchell rounded off the win with the fourth goal to complete a great season for the Yorkshire club, whilst Blackburn - who had excellent runs in both F.A.Women's Cup and Premier League Cup - end the campaign in fourth place.
Newly crowned Southern Division Champions Portsmouth also had a good end to their season as they also ran out 4-1 winners over Queen's Park Rangers.
Pompey took a first half lead with Leeta Rutherford rose highest to head in from a Lucy Quinn corner and Quinn was also heavily involved as Portsmouth went two ahead midway through the second half, supplying the pass for Gemma Hillier to lob the ball home. Laura Heron - who, along with Lucy Quinn, was playing her final match before going to the United States on a scholarship - slotted home a penalty for the third goal and Charley Wilson added the fourth from close range.
