The North West League Cup Final was an all-Blackpool affair between Blackpool FC Girls & Ladies and Blackpool Wren Rovers.
The wind whistled off the adjoining airfield at Airbus UK in Broughton, making things difficult but Blackpool FC Girls & Ladies adjusted quicker and soon built up a 4-0 lead before half time with goals from Emma Ambrose, Melissa Brown, Danielle Cross and Michaela Barlow.
After the break, Blackpool Wren Rovers set about reducing the arrears with a goal from Caroline Wilcock. The Division One North side went close with a shot that hit the bar but couldn't prevent their seaside neighbours from running out 4-1 winners.
The League Plate Final had earlier kicked off proceedings as newly crowned Premier Division Champions Chorley faced Southport Birkdale, who finished a creditable mid-table position in their first season in Division One North.
Kiery Horne opened the scoring for Chorley after only five minutes but their opponents dug deep until ten minutes into the second half when Victoria Coope scored spectacularly from distance. Southport's heads didn't drop and they deservedly pulled a goal back through Erin Woodhouse. Chorley's experience however proved too much as Natalie Parry and Victoria Coope scored to round off a 4-1 victory which also saw them retain the Plate.
