Lewes to run Under-15 team
 Women's Football News 8 Jun 2012
FA Women's Premier League newcomers, Lewes Ladies Community Football Club, are pleased to announce that they will be running a new Under-15 girls team this coming season, following a successful Grow the Game application from the Football Foundation, the country's largest sports charity.
The core objective of the Football Foundation's Grow the Game programme is to increase participation and enable more people to play our national game through supporting the development of grassroots football. The key strength of the scheme is that participation increases are sustainable, rather than transient. The grant allows for the creation of a solid infrastructure of teams as well as training for coaches.
The Under-15 Lewes girls' team will be managed by Mark Currier who has experience of running youth football and will be an integral part of Lewes Community Football Club. Mark will report to Director of women's and girls' football, Ron Moore. The team will have access to the very best training facilities as well as a brand new kit and training wear. Shirt sponsorship is now available for local businesses wanting to get involved in this community owned club.
Manager, Mark Currier, said: "Lewes CFC is a great environment to be part of. We want to attract the best girls at this age group and provide them with top class coaching so that they can progress and take advantage of the opportunities a club like Lewes CFC has to offer. This is a very exciting project for girls' football in the region."
Mark will be supported by coaches who have a minimum of an FA Level 1 badge, FA Youth Module 1 and possess a current CRB. "Lewes CFC is a community owned club and has a reputation for delivering an excellent environment for everyone involved," he added. "Players are at the heart of what we do. We are focused on development and building for the future, rather than winning at all costs."
