Watford Ladies Football Club is delighted to announce that they will be playing their home games in Berkhamsted from the start of the 2012-13 season.
An agreement with Berkhamsted Football Club will see Hertfordshire's only FA Women's Premier League club return to play football within Herts.
Previously Watford Ladies have been playing their home games at Northwood FC's Northwood Park and everyone at Watford Football Club would like to thank Northwood FC for their excellent hospitality during their stay there.
Berkhamsted FC finished their season with five consecutive wins, finishing seventh in their first season in the Molten Spartan South Midlands Premier Division. Watford Ladies also finished on a high, taking 16 points from seven games to finish seventh and retain their FA Women's Premier League status.
Commenting on the move, Watford manager John Salomon said: "We are delighted to be setting up a partnership with Berkhamsted FC. I have been really impressed with the facility and staff at Berkhamsted and feel that this is an exciting time for our club.
"Northwood FC have been great hosts for us and I would like to thank them personally for everyone they have done for us during our time there. We felt it was time for a change and wanted to bring Premier League football into Hertfordshire, where our Community Sports & Education Trust is operating and I feel this is a very positive move for our club."
Berkhamsted FC director Grant Hastie said: "It is great to see FA Women's Premier League action back in the town after an absence of a decade or so. We are very pleased to welcome to Broadwater, Watford Ladies and the famous clubs that they compete against. We are confident that the venture will be well supported."
Preparations are already underway for the start of next season and Berkhamsted FC will kick off their season on Saturday 28th July when they entertain Harpenden Town in the Herts Charity Shield.
Watford are looking forward to closing their pre-season schedule with a home clash with FA WSL side Liverpool. The game will take place at 3pm on Sunday 12th August and ticket information will be released in late July. The FA Women's Premier League season then kicks off on Sunday 19th August, with fixture information to be released later this summer.
