City double lead at midway point
 Women's Football News 24 Jun 2012
Glasgow City go into the mid-season break on top of the Scottish Women's Premier League after beating Falkirk 8-0.
Leanne Ross, Emma Mitchell and new signing Jennifer Callaghan each netted twice and they were joined on the scoresheet by fellow newcomer Ashley McDonald and Julie Melrose.
City's lead at the top has been doubled to six points from Celtic, who replaced Hibernian in second place by beating them 5-2. Hayley Cunningham bagged a brace for Celtic along with Emily Thomson, Rhonda Jones and Suzanne Grant while Laura Kennedy and Kirsty Montignani replied for Hibs.
Forfar Farmington meanwhile cemented themselves in fourth place by winning 2-1 away to Hamilton Academicals. Rachael Small fired Forfar ahead in the first half with Carolina Richardson equalising, before Lucy Graham grabbed a winner for the visitors after the break.
Aberdeen continue to have a good first season back in the top flight and their 3-2 success away to Hutchison Vale has taken them up to fifth. Hannah Clues (2) and Susan Murray were on target for the Dons, with Hutchie's strikes coming from Nicola Russell and Stephanie Briggs.
Suzanne McTaggart scored both goals as Rangers drew for the fourth time, 2-2 against Spartans who now occupy the mid-table position. Claire Crosbie and Sarah Ewens were on target for Spartans.
The other match, the basement clash between Inverness City and Kilmarnock, also finished level as the sides shared six goals. Sam McManus (2) and Kirsty Munro ensured that Killie picked up their second point of the season.
