Academy fightback stuns Lincoln
 Women's Football News 1 Jul 2012
Lincoln Ladies 1 (Hamilton 2) Bristol Academy 3 (Fishlock 5, Harding 14, Watts 34)
Bristol Academy stole all three points after going behind within five minutes of the first half beginning to win 3-1 at Ashby Avenue against Lincoln Ladies.
Lincoln started the game the brighter out of the two teams. After a spell of possession Lincoln earned a corner after Jemma Rose headed clear. From the resulting corner Collette McCallum's low cross was met by a sliding Precious Hamilton who put the ball past Siobhan Chamberlain.
Three minutes later the Vixens equalised after Lincoln failed to build on their lead. Jess Fishlock brought the score back level after a fantastic delivery sailed over Nicola Hobbs in the Lincoln goal, after being fouled in a dangerous position on the corner of the area.
Bristol continued to dominate the game and after 14 minutes took the lead after a well worked goal when Angahrad James won the ball back in midfield and played in Laura Del Rio who found Natasha Harding running in from deep to head past Hobbs.
The Vixens managed to score one more before half time. Harding stole the ball off Lincoln after keeping possession and stormed down the right hand side and her cross heading towards the far post was palmed out by Hobbs only to land for Nikki Watts to tap in from close range.
After an exciting first half, neither side created many chances in the second half. Jemma Rose tested Hobbs from a fierce free kick from 40 yards out which bounced off Hobbs to Watts but Hobbs reacted to make a quick reaction save to deny Watts from scoring her second.
The Vixens almost struck again when Del Rio's header drifted just passed the post from Fishlock's free kick.
